Carolina Fontana
Xippas Punta del Este
Carolina Fontana was born in 1991 in Montevideo, Uruguay. She lives and works in Punta del Este.
She holds a degree in Fine Arts and Visual Arts and a degree in Cultural Management. She completed master’s studies at the University of Girona, Catalonia, Spain, as a scholarship recipient of the Carolina Foundation, specializing in Cultural Heritage, UNESCO Unitwin. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Art and Visual Culture at the Faculty of Arts of the University of the Republic, Uruguay. She was a finalist for the Paul Cézanne Prize from the French Embassy in Uruguay.

She has exhibited at the Subte Exhibition Space and at the Atchugarry Museum of Contemporary Art, MACA, in 2022. She participated in the China Arts Fellowship program organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, 2019-2020; she exhibited the installation: “The Sleeping Sculpture. Reflections on the placement of sculptures in the public space of Montevideo,” Exhibition Hall of the Faculty of Arts of the National School of Fine Arts Institute, Uruguay, 2018; among others.
