Vik Muniz in a group show "Botanique des imaginaires"

Vik Muniz participates in the collective exhibition “Botanique des imaginaires” with his series Flowers (1999), co-organized by the Centre Pompidou and the Abbaye Saint-Germain, Auxerre, France.

This exhibition, curated by Jonathan Pouthier and Ines Vazquez Messano, explores art history and botanical imaginaries from the 19th century to the present day.
Flowers (1999) by Vik Muniz is a portfolio of photographs consisting of 8 plates that include 6 photographs of flowers. Each photograph is accompanied by verses in which the artist declares what the flowers are not. The photographs are signed by the artist and the portfolio is signed by Vik Muniz and Lynne Tilman, who collaborated as the editor of the texts.
