Bertille Bak’s installation of two films Boussa from the Netherlands will be on view at CCCOD in Tours on the occasion of the group show titled “Sortir le travail de sa nuit”.
“The second part of a cycle dedicated to contemporary work, this exhibition explores the many forms of invisible labor in our society. It is based on the unprecedented shift which, during the confinement of 2020, brought to light categories of professionals rarely taken into consideration, active in the fields of personal care, cleaning, home delivery or mass distribution. Promoted to the status of “front-line workers”, unanimously hailed for their contribution to the continuity of social life, they quickly faded into the background of economic, political and even symbolic concerns as soon as normal life resumed, leaving behind the utopia of a post-war world that would have redefined the hierarchies and values of the working world.” (extract from the press release)
