On the occasion of the Voyage en hiver, Dominique Blais reactivates his sound installation A flot d’airain to resurrect the church bells of the city. Apart from certain festivals and ceremonies, the church bells in Nantes no longer ring. While the presence and symbolic significance of church bells in the urban landscape are considerable, their civil use has been lost in the city.
Following a wave movement, the artist rings the bells one by one, every day and at the same time.
