Olaf Holzapfel partakes in a duo show “Wir legten Hände in das Wasser“ with German artist Ulla von Brandenburg at the Altes Kurhaus Bad Kösen, Naumburg, Germany.
The exhibition is curated by Daniel Marzona and organised by the Design Akademie Saaleck (dieDas) in cooperation with the city of Naumburg. The unused Alte Kurhaus Bad Kösen is revitalised as a spectacular location for the dieDAS art opening exhibition.
For more than a decade, Olaf Holzapfel has been deepening and expanding his research into natural and traditional materials and traditional techniques.
Both artists develop new approaches to current social problem areas in a recourse to older traditions such as craftsmanship, theatre and humanistic knowledge. In each case, this takes place with special consideration of physicality, both through the viewer’s perception of the body, and also through the use of the body as a point of reference and starting point for their own work.
